Great read! 💯

My perspective on AI literacy aligns with MAIEI’s. The younger generation is learning from us, and we cannot afford to miss the mark on this. As a parent, I recognize my role in shaping how my kids interact with AI. I’ve taken it upon myself to guide their learning process rather than allowing them to consume AI tools mindlessly. I actually wrote a post (see below) detailing the approach I took and what worked in my context.

Regarding the issue of the loss of critical thinking, I want to share a thought that tries to link the three solutions you're suggesting: if the problem is to manage the diverse uses students can make of AI, having a clearly defined educational objective could be an opportunity to:

- keep in mind what the AI system is being used for

- have at disposal a criteria based on which you can determine if and how "human judgment" and "critical thinking" (as well as any other aspect involved in education) are contemplated in the educational process

- share (with the people who pursue the objective) a reference that can be used to establish whether the AI system's response is sufficiently transparent
